The London School of Sports Massage (LSSM) are pioneers in the field of Soft Tissue Therapy consiquently we believe there can be nowhere better in the UK to train if you want a career in either Sports Massage or the more advanced Soft Tissue Therapy.
LSSM was established by Mel Cash in 1989 after the publication of the first book on the subject of 'Sports Massage', written by Mel Cash, was published in 1988.
Sports Massage evolved into Remedial massage & eventually Soft Tissue therapy so has the LSSM followed by improving it's qualification specification to offer an industry leading BTEC Level 5 course. Our massage course is the most advanced Sport & remedial massage course available in the UK.
Our BTEC qualification is well regarded and will improve your opportunities of finding a position with a suitable employer, or perhaps you will setup your own practice where you can proudly display your certificate on your practice wall.
In addition to our Level 5 diploma course we also offer 'an Introduction to sports massage' (weekend) course and a upgrade to Level 5 from a level 4 (or equivalent) course which is ideal for therapists who are serious about their career is massage therapy and along with other ISRM schools we offer Continued Professional Development (CPD) courses.

LSSM have carefully designed courses to meet the needs of mature (non-school leaver) students who are looking for a new career which is why we run part-time courses at weekends spread over a longer period of time. The weekend classes are devoted mostly to teaching hands-on practical skills which can only be learned properly in a classroom along with other students and experienced tutors. The underpinning theory is now taught online so students can fit this in with their lives better.
London School of Sports Massage has always been more than just a massage school; we are also pioneering a new sector of modern healthcare. We are led by Mel and his close team of tutors who are all dedicated hands-on therapists that have constantly strived to better meet the needs of their clients. Progressing from their Sports Massage roots they have acquired higher skills in the assessment, treatment and rehabilitation of people suffering with pain and injury which has given each of them a much wider scope of practice which helps make hands-on therapy a much more stimulating and rewarding life-time career.
